Vodacom couldn't care less

My Iphone X mysteriously crashed yesterday. I went to Vodacom's customer care centre in Menlyn for an assessment, the lady that helped said this was her 1st iPhone X that this has happened to in her experience. After further inspection she said Vodacom would more than likely give me a brand new iPhone as there wasnt even a scratch on my phone and this was definitely an "iPhone problem"

I was told that I can forget retrieving ANY personal details (photos, numbers etc) if I hadnt backed up to my iCloud. I then ran over to the iPhone store where I was told that they had a 99% success rate in retrieving all data even on phones that had crashed. I then went back to Vodacom in order to see if they couldnt maybe do something for me to which I simply received a "No" answer to my plea.

I further received a Windows temporary replacement "phone", the phone is so worn out and dirty I decided to rather my old cracked iPhone 6.

Lessons learnt: 1. Do constant updates on iCloud. 2. Pay a premium and buy your phone from an iPhone store where they will at least attempt to retrieve as much data as possible.

Received the most impersonal automated response from Vodacom you could wish to have, telling me to call their care centre. Ridiculous, there should be minus points for Vodacom!
