Vodacom contravening Consumer Protection ACT?
Last week I decided to buy a 1Gb data bundle using my Smartphone Vodacom app. Unfortunately, I bought the bundle on the wrong contract. I clicked 'BUY' and then only realized that I had made a mistake. There is no OTP verification process to make sure that the order is correct. I phoned 082111 almost immediately after the purchase to try and reverse the transaction. I was shocked to learn that the process cannot be reversed and therefore I cannot get my money back. To me it sounds like the Consumer Protection Act is being contravened. One should be able to 'return' your purchase in a reasonable time period and get your money back. I will raise this matter with the Commission.
