VODACOM CONTRACTS ARE A LIFELONG SENTENCE

IT is impossible to cancel a contract at Vodacom so when you sign up please be prepared for a lifelong sentence. I WANT MY VODACOM CONTRACT CLOSED ! (the contract was fulfilled & ended 2 years ago!)

My mother has had a contract with Vodacom for +- 20 years, she moved overseas in 2022, an email was sent to Vodacom asking for the contract to be closed when she moved & for the past year we have both been trying to cancel her contract which expired in 2022 but VODACOM has continued to charge the full amount for the device ( which has been paid off) & the contract for airtime etc. After numerous emails, calls and visits to the store I am still unable to cancel her contract which is just running aimless, deducted from an account that has no income and resulting in her overdraft being used up paying for a cellphone that was paid off 2 years ago and for a number that has not been in use for just as long. she has given me a power of attorney to try and cancel this contract in South Africa as I still reside here, First I was told I have to bring her letter requesting the contract to be cancelled & copy of her ID to the nearest store inorder to log the cancellation, I did that ... then I was told it cannot be done in store and that I should call and request the cancellation ... I have done that ... I called again & was told to go instore as they can only start the cancellation once I hand the documents in physically ... to my surprise I was told instore that they cannot start the process and that I should lodge a call. I am beyond the point of logging a call and going back to the store.

I am beyond FRUSTRATED, this is completely unreasonable, poorly managed and a service provider that simply does not care about their clients. THIS IS THEFT at this point because I am categorically saying that WE WANT the contract CLSOED IMMEDIATELY & the funds for the last year REIMBURSED!!
