Vodacom contract to prepaid transfer

I have been waiting for 7 days for Vodacom to transfer my contract to prepaid. They have acknowledged receipt of my application as well as my payment and said it would be completed in 48 hrs. Surely this is a simple process and there is reason why they should sit on it so long!
