Vodacom Contract to PrePaid migration nightmare (end of contract date)
Good morning,
My contract was due to end on 5 July 2020. I phoned in June 2020 to confirm when I can end the contract and was advised to phone again on 1 July 2020. I was then told that I have to wait another month for the contract to actually end. On 27 July 2020 I phoned again to check my bill and usage, and was advised that they cannot see a cancellation request from Billing side, and transferred me back to cancellations. The agent in cancellations department again confirmed that the contract will go over to PrePaid on 1 Aug 2020.
Come 1 Aug 2020, I am still on the contract package. Phone in again on 3 Aug 2020 to ask whats happening (1 Aug was weekend), only to be told they cannot see that I even requested a cancellation of the contract.
Phoned again this morning 4 Aug 2020, only to go through the same routine of explaining I dont want a cheaper package (same story every time I phone), but I just want to move to PrePaid. I was then told, that it takes 24 / 48 hours for an escalation to get handled and a reference number to be provided.
My bill is currently increasing on the contract package as I am unable to load airtime. Who is going to pay this bill at the end of the month? This is unacceptable and I need to be assisted asap. Not wait 24 / 48 hours for an escalation to happen.
When I took the contract, it was one of the fastest deals ever made by the Vodacom store, but now I want to move back to PrePaid and cannot be assisted?
@Vodacom - If you don't mind, can you please be so kind as to contact me?
Everyone escalated me to another person.
The last person was more interested in upgrading one of my other lines, than actually canceling the one I was asking about. She then stated I have to wait another 30 days for the line to be cancelled.
I asked her that a manager rather phones me, who might actually get something done, but after she rudely ended the call, I am still waiting for the manager or anyone, not trying to push another upgrade off on me, to phone me.
Why, after I phoned and confirmed on the 1st of July that my contract will be cancelled end of July, have to now pay yet another month (out of contract) for a contract that ended 5th July already?
Can someone that can actually do something without escalating to 100 different departments please contact me?

I phoned again, and was told they will submit the cancellation for month end?!?
Is anything happening on Vodacom's side? Are you guys keeping us on contract for the fun of it?
Who is going to pay my bill month end?
I'm shocked at the level of support and the inability of Vodacom to perform a simple cancellation on a contract where the expiry date has passed already.
Why don't you use the same tactics you use when a databundle expires and you take the data, and apply it to cancelling contracts?
Just like, wow guys
