Vodacom contract prices NOT all-inclusive - beware of hidden costs!

Even though every other mobile service in this country provides caller ID as a routine service that is included in their contracts, Vodacom charges you extra for it. You only get it for free if you're on prepaid. Also, they advertise many of their contracts with a 10GB once-off data bundle included - beware, this is only provided on a PRO-RATA basis - unless you get the contract on the 1st of the month you will get SUBSTANTIALLY less data! Oh, and it's only valid for the first month, another little fact that was not pointed out when I took out the contract. Be warned to read the fine print when considering a contract with Vodacom, because apparently they are the only service provider that still needs to rely on subterfuge like this to get clients.

As a follow-up, I need to note that after the Vodacom call centre agent told me, quite snottily, that I "should have read the fine print" when I signed the contract, I went looking for it and found that the Vodacom sales agent did not actually provide me with the fine print - the only document that I was ever shown was the three-page contract that I signed, which simply refers to a separate t's & c's booklet which the sales agent was supposed to give me, but didn't. When I called the shop I was told that they don't routinely provide this to clients when they take out contracts! So essentially they made me sign an incomplete contract, without providing me with the information that they are legally required to.
