Vodacom contract - Price descrepency

Having been a Cell C customer for the last 10 years, I have been looking at possibly moving over to a Vodacom contract following my wifes advice. She recently upgraded to an iPhone 7 contract which seemed like a great deal. I phoned the call centre to request the same deal but was told this was only valid for my wife as she was renewing her contract. How is her money any better than mine? I am willing to move from your competitor and spend the next 10+ years with Vodacom but not if i dont receive a comparable contract. This really does seem like archaic thinking. I would really ask that you review your stance on this and make my move to Vodacom and easy one.
