Vodacom: contract issues & non response
On 31 October 2024, I went to the George Vodacom store with all relevant paperwork giving the requisite 30 days notice for the following to occur from end Nov: - transfer of company phone into my private capacity - application to keep the existing number - transfer from company contract to prepaid
The first two items were done but the transfer to prepaid was not. A fact I discovered in December when I was charged a full contract fee. On contacting Vodacom customer care on 27 Dec, I was given a reference number and told that I would receive a call within 24-48 hours. In addition, I told the agent to put in for my data and airtime to expire on 31 Dec so that I didn’t have to pay again in Jan. No call ever came.
On 2 January, I called them again spending over 4 1/2 hours speaking to different people and departments. Very frustrating! I was as gain given a reference number as I didn’t want to be charged again for January. To date, no call has yet again materialised from the cancellations department.
As an old customer, I am on the “second” system that most agents don’t have access to and I CANNOT get to speak to any one person who can adequately help me.
This is a **** from Vodacom to make it extremely onerous to cancel any contract and milk the customer as much as possible.
I am without a job since end Nov and cannot afford this underhanded and disgraceful behaviour from Vodacom.
