Vodacom contract department and insurance department

Bab service I am honestly not happy with vodacom I bought a cellphone cash then I insured with vodacom insurance ,and I also had a data contract with vodacom after two years I decided to cancel a data contract ,not my phone insurance.now I'm being told if you cancel your data contract your phone insurance will be canceled automatically But no one told me, only last week when I called to report about my phone being broken, I was told my phone is not insured, Even the lady I was speaking too was every rude My phone can't just be cancel automatically after paying vodacom for years
