Vodacom contract customers continual data *******.

As a contract cell customer I have watched as my data usage has continually increased without me doing anything different with the device Having incurred some hefty out of bundle fees I had vodacom upgrade me to one of their top packages with a very large data allowance to kerb unexpected expenses. Although in the first few months of the contact it appeared I was not able to use even half of the available data it has now become the norm yet again to incur a four thousand rand out of bundle data amount. This is insanity.... there is no way I as a cell phone user can possibly be using between four and six thousand rands worth of data a month bearing in mind I don't download files, am on wifi during office hours and don't play games. I have purchased a two gig data bundle only to have a vodacom SMS tell me it was finished within fifteen minutes of it being activated. Again... impossible. When these issues are raised with the call centre agent they always log the issue but to date no one has ever come forward to explain the daya ilusage always blaming the phone and... me.

At the same time a friend ona pay as you go package spends and identical amount of time on the same kind of apps and yet seldom needs to top up. I can only surmise that firstly somehow Vodacom does not allocate the data to their contract customers they claim and secondly they are charging excessively high out of bundle rates. In short this is a full scale ******* of their contract customers.

As my contract is now due for upgrade I will be cancelling this contract and go onto pay as you go. It is cheaper to provide data and wifi connections at home and purchase the handsets outright.
