VODACOM CONTRACT CANCELLATION

I have been trying for the last 2 months to cancel 2x phone contracts. The business practices that is employed by Vodacom is shameful and beyond repute. In September, the phone contracts in question had ended, I went to a Vodacom store to cancel but was told I could not cancel in store and had to phone Cancelations. I phoned cancelations at the beginning of October after holding and answering questions for 5 minutes only to be told that I could not cancel as there was a problem on Vodacom side. During this conversation they tried there damnest to convince me to renew, but I kept on telling them that I did not need the number. They eventually said that they would resolve the problem and cancel on the contract. On checking in November, I saw that the debit order had gone through including the amounts for the two expired and canceled contracts. I phoned their Cancelations and inquired if the 2 contracts were canceled, this entire process took 8 minutes, which is unbelievable as it is a simple matter of a contract cancelation. Eventually the operator came back and told me that there was an outstanding amount, which is the debit order amount deducted every amount from my account. They then said I had to go into a store to query why there was an outstanding amount. In conclusion, this simple matter of canceling a contract, is no simple matter with Vodacom, the business practices that they deploy is despicable as if they won't allow you to cancel the contract ans still generate revenue every month. A simple matter of cancelling a contract number not in use has taken 2 months, when it should be a simple matter of 1 minute to accede to the cancellation.
