Vodacom Contract Cancelation nightmare

This ****mer does not even deserve 1 start. My 24 months contract ended last year December 2023 , I was surprised when I was debited , even higher ( around R500 ) of it end of January 2024. My initial contract was Combo 2x Huawei handset which was around R400 monthly. I called them and was told if your contract end sand you do not cancel it you are automatically entered into a month to month Sim contract. Mind you I have never used the 2 sim cards since I already had main numbers so the sim cards were just lying around the house somewhere. I sent an email and called requested that they cancel my contract, but I got debited again in February, when I called them the agent apologized and said the previous agent did not log my cancelation in the system. He promised to assist but I was charged in March as well. I was now calling everyday 2 x a day over 1-2 hours on the phone being sent from pillar to post, calls cut while talking. they kept refusing to give me reference numbers saying they didn't do anything on my profile, pointing fingers at each other.

in April I spoke to another Agent who told me he can lower my fees since April is already started so I was going to be charged anyway. The fee was now reviewed to R120 for both sim cards, and upon receiving the quote I told him I will go through the document and revert. when I called back to inform them I am not in agreement because I saw it was a new 24 month contract I was told I will be able to cancel it whenever I want, guess what I am now locked into a new 24 month contract that I did not authorize. I was told the issue is escalated but I am still paying for the Sim Cards that are useless to me, being ****** by a big conglomerate and I cant do anything about it.

Vodacom purposely and strategically moved the contract cancellation option from their physical stores to phone calls so that they make it impossible for people to cancel contracts. they train their useless agents to cut calls, side-line people, wear you down with their filthy tactics and **** you out of your hard earned money. They make sure they do not give you your call reference number or any useful information that will enable you to seek legal assistance. If you do not pay them even once they will hand you over to credit bureau and mud your credit score for the mess they created deliberately. My next step is to approach the Consumer Ombud and ICASA for assistance. I am also looking to open a case against them (not sure how) for ***** and ******** business practices. The stress , time and money wasted just to cancel a simple contract...
