Vodacom contract a nightmare. STAY AWAY!!!

On the 26/02/20 my husband found out that vodacom had been debiting his account for a contract that had expired in November 2019 without his consent after he reviewed his credit report upon wishing to acquire an asset. He duly contacted vodacom who then said they had not received a cancellation request from him, but how, when he had initially signed a contract for 24months only & there was no such condition stated to him verbally or contractually let alone him being notified by any means when the contract was renewed sans his consent by vodacom. On the day he then requested that the contract be cancelled. I am appalled to even write out that to this day that contract is still in place, vodacom is still **********ly deducting money from his bank account. To cut the matter short, he has called vodacom an endless number of times the last 2 being last week Tuesday (07/04/20), where he spoke to a male consultant who said he would receive proof of cancellation & credit confirmation on his email after 48hrs but as you guessed there was no such delivered by vodacom. This morning he once again app**** his resources, contacted vodacom & asked them why they had not followed up on their commitment to settle this once & for all as promised, he spoke to a consultant by the name of Andile Baloyi who again gave him a load of gibberish about why the cancellation had not gone through last week & again foolishly promised that if he gave them 48hrs they would settle this. He also turned around & said the cancellation had gone through immediately, it was just the credit that he had to wait for. When my husband then asked for proof of cancellation he spun his story & said they don’t provide proof of cancellation they can only give him a reference no. WOW! In all honesty, we don’t understand how many 48hrs vodacom needs in this lifetime to resolve a cancellation request logged on the 26/02/20 after their ***** of renewing without consent or notification of such. We are truly at our wits end as we have been vodacom contract customers for more than 5 years & still have 2 other contract accounts that are active with them for the next 24 months that we will be cancelling by the end of this month, trust, because we cannot tolerate being taken advantage of by them any longer. Stay away if you know what’s good for u.

No action has been taken on this by vodacom. Nothing, nada, zilch instead we were shocked beyond our senses to learn that Vusi from the retentions department whom my husband spoke to on the 14/04/2019, who claimed to have processed the cancellation & request for refund for the months of March & April which were still debited for by vodacom after cancellation was requested on the 26/02/20, of which call records exist to prove that, had not done any of those things as we heard yesterday (16/06/20) after once again spending valuable resources following up with vodacom after they failed again to follow through. An accounts personnel by the name of Nelisiwe advised yeasterday that the account was still very much active & had not been cancelled. An invoice was processed for 30/04/20 & the claim from the retentions department personnel spoken to on the last attempt to correct this was this was a fault done by Vusi who loaded the cancellation on the 14/04/20 for the end of April only. But how when the cancellation was requested on the 26/02/20? The same Vusi was sent emails by 2 of the retentions department personnel as they claimed he was sitting in Randburg & they were in Midrand due to the Covid pandemic. Since then no phone call has been received from the said Vusi or any attempt to resolve this has been done by ANY vodacom consultant instead they are rude to the core when my husband repeatedly explains to them why he is frustrated by this, they vaguely say “don’t shout at me” are u for real after months of frustration & you not providing a solution for a problem clearly created by you guys, you cannot even sympathize with a helpless customer wanting his name to be cleared? Beyond me!
