Vodacom contract a headache

Good day,

It has only been a week and few days of taking a contract from Vodacom but I already regret it. I will not be recommending this service to anyone I know because I have been getting set backs ever since I took this offer.

On the 15th of August 2017, I took a Huawei P8 lite 2017 contract at Sandton City Vodacom 4u. After taking the phone the lady assisting me without any problems told me R150 will be taken out of my account within 48 hours for the contract airtime, AND THEN, on the 1st of every month my contract will be credited with the agreed on contract amount.

To my surprise, on the 23rd of August 2017 an amount of R291.68 was credited from my account which I had not budgeted for. I called Vodacom and spoke to 4 different consultants who gave me a breakdown of where this amount is coming from. I asked for them to send me the statement as this was NOT EXPLAINED TO ME WHEN I BOUGHT THE PHONE. When I got the statement, it does not breakdown the cost and where all these costs are coming from. It also mentions that the due date of payment is 31 August 2017.

Today on the 24th of August 2017, the money has been debited back to my account without any explanation / SMS / Call or e-mail. I have already incurred R60 bank charges because of this transaction. Vodacom is playing with money that I do not have. I do not even know who must be held accountable for the bank charges I have incurred because I know that money brought back will be credited out of my account again by Vodacom. Why are you playing with my money without consultation? Who will be held accountable? Must I take this case to the consumer protection agency? What must happen VODACOM?
