Vodacom contract
Good day, trust you are well. My complaint is with Vodacom and I've tried on numerous occasions to sort it out, but with no luck. My dad is an existing client of Vodacom. In October 2019 a consultant phone with this great data deal. I’m assisting my dad with all his business as my mother passed away & she used to do all the business.
I was talking to the consultant after they asked my dad a few security questions. The deal consisted of 30GB anytime; 30GB night time & additional 20GB anytime (In total 80GB.) We thought it to be a great deal, because the consultant also said we (me & my dad) can share the 80GB data. When my dad received the package by courier, there were 2 sim cards. On the invoice both my dad's number & my number appeared, so we thought the 2 sim cards was for my dad & myself. When we inserted the one sim card into my dad’s phone we could see the data but he couldn’t phone or receive phone calls??? So what's the use to have the data, but you cannot phone someone or nobody can get hold of you???? We then went to our local Vodacom shop, but they could not assist as this wasn't done by them, but by a specific department in Vodacom. Late in January 2020 I phoned the Vodacom number to enquire about why there’s 2 sim cards? The consultant advised me that the one sim card is the data sim card and the other sim card is airtime card. I was quite surprised? As that’s not how we understood that.
It’s almost 6 months and my dad haven’t used any data or airtime. My dad’s original contract is at Vodacom, he has a iPhone 6. That phone can only take 1 sim card. I've asked Vodacom to explain to me how is he suppose to use 2 sim cards with only one phone? Take into account he is 67 years old.
Another thing I wonder how Vodacom when they did the deal, only asked him a few questions, now that he has the issue, they have requested a power of attorney, which I submitted and till today no feedback on the issue???
For us to cancel this contract my dad will have to pay in more than R5000 which he cannot afford? My feel on this is why should my dad pay for this mistake?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I need a solution to the problem. According to my dad he asked the consultant to phone me, which did not happen.

At the end of the day, they are glad to take your money every single month for NO SERVICE. I think we will stop payment, until Vodacom comes to the table.
