Vodacom contract
Vodacom. I called to cancel a long-standing contract I have had for many years. On attempting to cancel I was convinced to take a lesser valued contract that included a device. I eventually agreed to this and went through the process. When RAM couriers arrived (unannounced despite the request that they contact me) I was told that they do not accept a Department of home affairs document as proof of address. I then spoke to Magdelene from Vodacom who was responsible for this particular contract. I expressed to her that I did not need or want the phone or contract and that if the home affairs document was not sufficient then I would need to cancel the contract because I really did not need to be inconvenienced to go and find another form of proof of residence. I was assured that it would be sorted out. RAM again tried to deliver and again refused to accept the proof of address, I again sent them away. I emailed Magdelene with explicit instructions that if RAM did not accept the proof of address and concluded the delivery by 3 pm on Friday 08/04/2024 I would not be interested in the contract. Again I was assured that it would be attended to. The deadline came and went without resolution and I this morning received confirmation that the contract is in place despite my communications. I have mailed on several occasions without success and have only received a "premature" cancellation quotation of 15k. I am disgusted to say the least with the behaviour of both Vodacom for their handling of this matter and RAM couriers for not accepting a government issued proof of address.
