Vodacom continues to bill me contract fees while I'm on prepaid

I have been a contract member of Vodacom since the advent of cellphones in South Africa. I ended my contract with Vodacom mutually on 31 December 2015 my reason being that I wanted to convert from contract to prepaid. That was done successfully. I am no longer working. as I am now a pensioner and can no longer afford contracts.

However, Vodacom has continued to send me contract billing after I converted to prepaid. It seems they did not like that because they are determined to keep my old account alive. They keep on sending me accounts and so called arrears.

In January to March they kept on saying I owe. I asked for proof. They sent me invoices. On Monday 14 March 2016, I deposited R6800 into account I ********** 9 in response to the amount of R6766-67 which I was told I owe as arrears due to data. This was news to me but to avoid problems with a giant like Vodacom, I paid to put the matter to rest. I thought that was the end.

Now they say despite that payment I still owe about R5000. Now this account has been handed to debt collectors. I do not understand the codes used on the invoice the debt collectors sent. Vodacom must prove to me that I owe those amounts.

Vodacom must not debit anymore from my bank account since that destabilizes my bank account and badly affect my other debits like those for medical and insurances.
