Vodacom = Consumer Slave Masters
I am deeply disappointed by Vodacom's unwillingness to care for its customers. A customer of more than 20 years was called by a Vodacom sales agent because it was time to upgrade the contract. She agreed to the new package and was sent the new device via courier. Upon receiving the new phone she did not like it, after all she did not have the chance to experience it in hand because this was a telephonic transaction. She called the agent back to say she would like another device, and she received no assistance. She called the support line the next day and spoke to someone else who gave her a long list of procedures that she needed to follow in order to rectify this matter. She went to a store and they were far more helpful but were unable to assist her, but at least the did give me better clarity about the procedures. She called the support line again and this time found an agent who appeared to be helpful and an arrangement was made for the phone to be collected. It has now been two weeks and the phone has not been collected. She called to inquire but each time she is given excuses.
These actions are a very clear violation of the consumer protection act and are a horrible way to treat a customer who has been loyal to this business for two decades. This person is not even trying to cancel the use of all Vodacom services, they are merely saying that they do not like the device that was sold to them and they want another one. Yet for some reason Vodacom has been totally unwilling to provide this loyal customer with the level of service that they deserve.
If you have looking for a new contract, run far AWAY from Vodacom. Once they get what they want from you, they will not even try to be helpful if you have an issues.
