Vodacom consistent bad service

I have been a loyal customer of Vodacom since 2001 and have always appreciated the excellent service you offered me during this period. Yet a recent unpleasant experience with your network has seriously shaken my belief in your ability to continue providing a top notch customer service care.

I entered into a 24 months data contract with Vodacom on 08/09/2015. After the contract expiry on 07/09/2017, I allowed the contract to continue on a month to month basis. However, in February last year, my laptop and router were ****** and I immediately went to the local Vodacom store to cancel the contract. The store took note of the cancellation and further advised me to contact Vodacom care to confirm the cancellation, which I did. In August 2018, I received a call from one of the Vodacom consultants notifying me that my account was in arrears. Upon investigating, I discovered that the contract was actually not cancelled. I called the cancellation department and also went back to the same store to lodge a complaint, however no proof (recorded conversation, reference no) of my cancellation was found. Realising that I was not going to win my case without proof, I decided to settle the outstanding amount and start the process all over again. Once more, I was assured that the cancellation went through and was given the reference no. Much to my dismay, I received another call last week Wednesday (07/08/2019), this time from Vodacom lawyers that I still owe Vodacom. Upon investigating my contract still has not been cancelled. I am not really sure what will it take for my contract to be cancelled. It took me just less than five minutes to seal a deal with you, but I do not understand what’s taking you forever (more than a year) to stop the very same contract. Apparently the service that I am forced to pay for is no longer my own decision and Vodacom can do whatever they want after I told them not to. I have to pay for the data that I have never asked for and used, all because of your *********** staff. I would like to pose to you the following question: Is this doing business in good faith? Are these ethical business practices? Just wanting to let you know that this will be the last business you guys will be getting from me and I will make it my priority that I spread the word to whoever I will meet that he/ she should not deal with Vodacom.
