Vodacom Complaint - terrible service, very unfair

I have a complaint regarding Vodacom. I took out a contract for my Mozambican nanny in early 2018. She left South Africa and took the sim card with her in mid 2018 (I think she left in June 2018). She did not return to South Africa. So I thought I could just get a sim swap because it is in my name. I went to several Vodacom stores (Eastgate, ****arney Mall, Gandhi square...) where they made me pay over R100 for a sim card. I think I bought 2 or 3 sim cards for over R100 each in this past year. None of them were able to activate the sim card. I also called in to the call center several times and they were unable to help me with a sim swap.

They could not give me a good reason. One Vodacom employee said that it could be because I was using my new I.D. with my marriage surname. So maybe that is why the sim swap was unsuccessful. I don't believe that because I use my marriage surname at cell c even though my Cell C contracts were in my ****en name and Cell c even let me take out another contract. I have at least 4 contracts with Cell c and they are fully paid up to date.

So now I've paid over R200 for sim cards that have not been activated. Vodacom is also charging me every month for a airtime that they are not allowing me to use. I continued paying even though they could not give me an active sim card. I stopped paying recently because I think it is very unfair.

I think my last attempt at getting a sim swap was at the Gandhi square Vodacom shop, where the lady really tried to help me but could not activate the sim card (November 2018) . I even left the sim card with her with all my details so she could continue trying to activate it. I still have no sim card. No sim swap ...nothing.

I would like to know what my rights are as a consumer. I can understand that I need to pay for the handset, but I have tried several times to get a sim swap and Vodacom was unable to help me. Therefore, I don't think it is fair for Vodacom to charge me for the actual package of airtime/data/sms/etc.... because I don't use them, and I don't use them because Vodacom cannot give me a valid sim swap. That is completely Vodacoms fault.

I feel very cheated and bul**** into paying for something that I am not even able to use. (at no fault of my own)

I called Vodacom this morning and the lady said I should send a complaint to ********** and i did that, and the email did not even deliver. It was returned to me. So, they don't even allow me to send an email complaint. They can't even give me a valid e-mail address.
