Vodacom-Complaint- POPIA/ Service/ Incorrect Contract

Hi there,

I would like to lay a complaint against the Vodacom Nicolway 4You branch in terms of a POPIA violation and pure lack of service on repeated occasions.

I gave my proof of bank account 3 months statement physical copy to an employee by the name of Nonhlanhla at the Vodacom Nicoleway 4You branch in Johannesburg. This was in line which a change of ownership which took over three week to finalise where she said it would take 1-4 hours. She never gave me any service in terms of calling me back when she said she would and last week Friday (17-11-2023) when I went to the branch, my proof of bank account could not be found and Nonhlanhla was not at work that day which in which my opinion means my documents were lost which is massive a breach of POPIA in terms of my personal information.

Below is Nonhlanhla email address:

*** ***

As I am in the financial industry I understand the seriousness of breaching the POPIA Act. Sadly the Nicolway 4You branch does not.

The utter lack of service from the staff members at Vodacom Nicolway 4You is saddening in terms of dealing with a company I have been contracted to for over 15 year.

I had asked the manager at the branch to call me back regarding the change of ownership but she lacked the effort to call me back and when I asked her about this in person she said she couldn't remember saying she would call me back... Zero Service!

Further to the above I need to lay another complaint against a tele-sales agent ( I did not get her name) who incorrectly and *********ly sold me a contract which was sold to me last week Saturday (18-11-2023) at 11.29. She **** to me on the phone about data and airtime that would be in the contract and she never sent me the invoice which states the contract conditions but she activated the contact *********ly. She said i would receive 6 gigs of data monthly and 140 minutes of airtime per month over a 24 month period for R287 per month but this was a lie and of course this can be checked on the voice recordings form our conversations. I would like a hearing to be arranged for that employee in terms of her ethically selling ability. Another employee by the name of Nash did a good job of cancelling that contact on Saturday so i commend him for his efforts.

I will be laying an official POPIA Complaint against the Vdocam 4You Nicolway branch for further action to be taken against Vodacom as a brand.

I look forward to hearing back from Vodacom in terms of what actions will be taken for the above ********* and poor service actions.

Kind Regards, Marc Squier
