Vodacom committing ***** by new contract reactivation without my consent
I have been a Vodacom client for over 20 years until recently. I was retrenched 3 years ago where I contacted Vodacom, explaining this. They advised me as to not loose my number that I convert to a pay-as-you-go customer which I did. Everything up to that point was perfect. I stuck by paying whatever my outstanding contract was, at times not being able to pay on time and having to phone in and make new payment arrangements. Vodacom was always helpful. Kudos here.
Then two weeks ago I received an SMS stating that I owe nothing and that my contract has been reactivated to a Smart M and that the next debit order was due. This is blatant *****! I never requested Vodacom to place me on a new contract, again, and what is most strange, how could they have done all the mandatory credit checks due to me still not working, I am curious as to how they reinstated my contract. This is unprofessional and unconstitutional and goes against the letter of the act of TCF - treating the customer fairly.
I have since called in 5 times to Vodacom explaining that I wish to lodge/open a case of ***** and they cut me off each time supposedly transferring me saying it is a business account. I agreed. No one calls back. Poor customer service. Now today I cannot call their *** as it says i am not registered on the network.
Someone either at Vodacom or at the Vodashop where I originally renewed my contract in 2017 prior to me later going pay as you go, has committed *****. Please could you investigate and get a manager to make contact with me via email as I have no number any longer, and sort this out. This by a company that supposedly boasts they are tech ready to handler clients during Covid-19. I hope this is not a sign of how Vodacom treats their 20 year old customers.
