Vodacom closes Calls before they are actually resolved

I can't register on Vodacom's website using my email address, because I was previously a Vodacom customer and my email address is being blocked from registering a new account, which makes sense.

Trying out the Forgot Password functionality for my email address on the Vodacom website does absolutely nothing - so I can't reset my password and link my number to my account, as the reset password email is not getting sent. I will also not use another email address, as the one that's registered is my main email address.

I logged a query with Vodacom to try and resolve this, and have received a reference number for the query: 1- ********** ********** .

A day later, without communication from Vodacom, I received an SMS informing me the query has been closed, and I am still stuck in the exact same place I was in before any of this started.

I asked Vodacom Support about this via Twitter 2 days ago, and have received one SMS since: your query has been escalated to a support specialist, reference number: 1- ********** ********** - with ZERO further communication in any form.

In the meantime I still can't access the service, and don't know if anything will ever happen as: 1. Vodacom will probably close this new call again before resolving the issue to make their internal numbers look good. 2. Vodacom tries to placate customers by using the wording "your query has been escalated", which in my experience means absolutely nothing, as I've heard it a multitude of times before and still had no support or resolution of an issue before turning to a platform like HelloPeter, sometimes more than once before a single issue could be resolved.

My money is on Vodacom closing this issue again without resolution to make their numbers look good. And also - the fact that HelloPeter may say that Vodacom responded to this complaint also means NOTHING, as any company can set up an automated response and then not back it up with actual service.
