Vodacom cheating customers of their money
Vodacom is intentionally ripping customers off by not closing their accounts when the contracts expire. I have tried many times to cancel my contract (Account No.: I***-1) after expiry. On the 21st July 2021, I spoke to Vodacom (Ntokozo) over the phone and informed her I would like to cancel my contract as it had already expired. She gave me a settlement of R395.25 to pay in order to close my account. Another Vodacom representative (Tintswalo) called me immediately after that call to confirm the arrangement to settle my account and close it. I paid the settlement amount of R395.25 immediately and sent proof of payment by email to ***. But on different dates, I have also forwarded the email to the following addresses: 1. *** 2. *** 3. ***
Ntokozo had further advised me to call *** or 082135 and state that I want to close my account. I tried to call those numbers but couldn't get through. Since then, Vodacom continues to send adverse information to Credit Bureau that I'm missing my contract payments every month.
As a result I'm struggling to get a homeloan due to Vodacom's incompetency and I feel this is how Vodacom robs millions of people of their money. If they are doing this to millions of people, they are definitely making millions of rands in a *****ed way. When I spoke about my frustrations to some of my friends, I was shocked to learn that I'm not the only one experiencing this. The collections department called me the other day with a new settlement and I told them I have already settled the account in July 2021.
