Vodacom cheating

Phone Vodacom to cancel a contract for a number we don't use anymore. The person is very helpful. Also sells me an upgrade on my data contract. Get off the phone, and no email or sms about the number termination. Turns out she's sold me a lock-in 24 month data contract AND not actioned the termination. Shameful practice. Hope they can blame the system. Feeling cheated after being a Vodacom customer since 1995.

Thank you for the quick response and for reversing this unwanted new contract. When your rep sold me this new data contract she said I was currently paying R380 a month for 2GB and would now only pay R149 for 10GB. When I checked online and phoned Vodacom AGAIN yesterday, it seems I am currently paying only R109 per month (so I would actually be paying more for data I did not need). So in addition to the 24-month lock-in nature of the contract, the R380 claim really was a straight lie designed to mislead. If Vodacom puts that kind of pressure on its reps to sell contracts then you should perhaps look at some of the fairly recent US banking scandals and what happened in the aftermath.
