Vodacom Cellphone Insurance is a ****

Vodacom Cellphone Insurance is a ****. They insured my cellphone to the value of R20000-R25000, and now they want to give me a cellphone valued at R10000. They were happy to collect monthly premium from me and even increased every year since 2022 because my device is increasing in value, they now claim I was overinsured. I was advised by their representative at the time I was taking out cover for my device that I should insure the device to the value as stated above. The consultant explained to me that I need to make sure that my SIM card need to always be on the device and my premiums are up to date and there will be excess payable at the time of claim, now they are talking about terms and conditions which were never shared with me.

Reviewer Update
Vodacom remains dishonest in their dealings with their customers. You have indicated that you have reviewed your records where I was made aware of the terms but you are not providing me with the same as I have requested. It is simply not true what you are saying. The truth is that your Consultant encouraged me to sign for higher premium and explained to me that it will assist me at the time of claim as I will be issued with the value of the band I am insured at, which was R20 000 to R25000, and this is obvious in the insurance application form you are talking about. As a matter of fact, your online consultant did confirm that I was paying a higher premium even made a promise to refund the excess amount of the premium. You have now conveniently said that your consultant made a mistake. Was it also a mistake for vodacom to accept the insurance application at a band knowing very well that they won't honor? . Indeed I signed the form declarations, and this was on the basis of your consultant having said to me that I basically need to pay my premiums every month, not remove the SIM card from the phone and he also explained how the excess works. Vodacom has denied me the opportunity to know their purported terms and conditions, which they are now conveniently using to deny the value of my claim. it is the requirement of the Consumer Protection Act that you bring to my attention these exclusions, and you didn't do that. The reason you increase your annual fees it is because of the increasing value of items and you don't want to acknowledge it. How does the value of R25000 decrease to R10000 and you continue to increase the premiums instead of adjusting them to the value of what you purport to have covered? At the time of taking the cover, your consultant made me to believe that your organization has integrity and will honor the promises they make to clients. I need you to provide me with your records where I supposedly was given the terms and conditions.
