Vodacom Cellphone Contract Cancellation

Review to Hallo Peter Regarding Vodacom Cellphone Contract Cancellation

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with Vodacom’s handling of a contract cancellation. My cellphone contract, which had a duration of 36 months, ended on 31 August 2024. However, when I attempted to cancel this expired contract on 15 November 2024, I encountered unacceptable inefficiency and misleading practices.

On that day, staff at the Vodacom Rustenburg Greystone branch assisted me in making nine calls to the Vodacom Customer Call Centre. The phone was dropped eight times before I was finally able to speak with someone and successfully cancel the contract. Despite the contract already being expired for months, I was informed of a 30-day cancellation period, during which I would still be billed. Shockingly, I was also informed that I would be charged for both November and December, resulting in a 45-day billing period post-cancellation.

This practice feels like blatant exploitation, as the contract had already come to term in August. Forcing customers to pay for an additional month beyond the stated cancellation period is both ********* and unjustifiable.

As a loyal Vodacom customer for over 20 years, I am deeply disappointed with how this process was handled. It reflects poorly on the integrity of the company and undermines the trust long-time customers like myself have in its services.

I urge Vodacom to review its cancellation policies and processes to ensure they are fair.
