Vodacom Cape Gate is pathetic!

I would NOT recommend Vodacom to anyone – especially the Cape Gate branch. I have been a loyal Vodacom customer for years, but after this experience, I cannot wait to end every contract I have with them.

I recently opened a contract for a PlayStation 5, a Samsung TV, and a router. The main reason we went for the PlayStation deal was because it included a 2-year PlayStation Plus subscription, which the agent confirmed multiple times. To our disappointment, the subscription was never included – despite their promises. When we raised the issue, all we got was a cold response from Coleen saying it will be “taken up with the agent” – no accountability, no effort to resolve the problem.

On top of that, the TV voucher they gave us was never even activated! I had to call, email, and follow up multiple times just to get access to a deal I had already signed for.

What makes it worse is the absolute refusal to take responsibility for their mistakes. Their excuse? “We don’t have a return policy.” That’s completely unacceptable. There’s a clear lack of communication, professionalism, and customer service.

This experience was frustrating and disappointing from start to finish. If you’re thinking about signing anything at Vodacom Cape Gate – DON’T.

This has truly been the worst service I have ever received.

Despite multiple confirmations from your staff member, we were misled about the PlayStation Plus subscription being included. What’s even more concerning is that this repeated misinformation – not once, but at least six times – is now simply being brushed off as “miscommunication,” as mentioned by Coleen.

It’s unacceptable that no one is taking ownership of this situation. The mistake was clearly made by a Vodacom agent, yet the consequences fall on me – the customer – while Vodacom offers no resolution, no accountability, and still no subscription.

I will never make use of Vodacom again, and I will be sure to share this experience with everyone I know. There are plenty of service providers that actually value their customers and take responsibility when they are at fault.
