Vodacom Cape Gate Appalling Service
Shocking service from Vodacom Cape Gate. After literally harrassing me for a year to get an upgrade I eventually decided to do so on 13th December 2018. I upgraded to the Huawei P20 lite. Upon setting up the device we experienced problems with it continually switching on and off and then eventually crashing and requesting a factory reset. On the 14th we took it back to the shop and the lady ticked a couple of settings and assured me that was the problem. Got home and it requested an update. Upon accepting the update it started resetting again until eventually crashing again. My wife returned to the shop the next day where they charged her for their 'technician' to look at the device and set it up for her. 3 hours later the phone was set up and good to go. Got home received a call and the resetting started again until eventual failure. I phoned the shop and spoke with the lady who assisted my wife. It was like speaking to a five year old. No communication s****s whatsoever. Simply just answering every question or argument with "OK", to the point where I constantly had to ask her what ok meant? After the most frustrating 5minutes of my day I asked to speak to the manager and she informed me that the manager had just gone out and will phone me when she gets in. Hour later I phone again and speak to a different person. I ask for the manager upon which she informs me, to my obvious surprise, that the manager was off for the day. Next morning at 11h I walk in to the shop and ask for the manager. No message to phone me was ever given to her. She informed me that they did not have an in store technician and seemed confused. She continued s to treat me with utter irritation and no empathy towards my situation or frustration whatsoever. She eventually books the device in as an out of box failure and tells me it will take 7 to 14 business days. Taking into consideration that it is over Christmas I started following up on the 7th of January 2019 after not hearing anything from them. After numerous calls and promises to keep me updated I talk to someone who informs me that it is 30 business days and not 14 as I was previously told. On the 24th of January I phoned again and got told that the device was approved for replacement but they are waiting for the salvation company to give the go ahead, but it should be replaced early the next week they will phone me. On Wednesday I phoned again. Nobody knows anything about my phone. Eventually I speak to a gentleman who informs me that it just so happens that my new device is there and can be collected. As I was on my way to depart on a business trip I told him that I would collect the device on Thursday or Friday. He then told me that there's no problem and that he will keep the device for me. Friday afternoon I go to collect my device just to be informed that they gave it to someone else??? Are you serious Vodacom? Apparently there is a policy that devices are only kept for one day. All good and fair... But how does that include my situation? I already signed a contract for and paid installments for that device, which makes it my property which means giving it to someone else constitutes THEFT!! So now I still do not have a device and was told that I may or may not receive a device of Monday... Appalling Shocking and Disgusting service. Vodacom will not see another renewal from me and I might just be so inclined to open a case of theft against the shop owner as well as Vodacom SA for 'giving away' my property...
