Vodacom can't even replace 12 gigs!
I am utterly disgusted by how I have been treated by Vodacom over the last 2 days! Despite being a loyal prepaid (since 2000) and for over a decade as a contract client I am utterly appalled by the treatment! I was involved in a brutal smash and grab on Wednesday 4 September at around 5pm. ALL my personal belongings were taken ID, Drivers, Bank Cards, and Cellphone to name a few. I had no cellphone and thus I could not even contact family members. When I was connected with family members we had to go to the police station etc... I was only physically able to sort out banking and cellphone yesterday (6 September). Where all the other institutions were more than happy to assist as I had a case number etc. With Vodacom it took me hours to upgrade my SIM (that was due for an upgrade) in order to get another device. I also did SIM swops for the contract SIM and prepaid eSIM that was in my phone that was taken. When all the swops were completed (today) I was told that the data should still be there. When the agent at the Vodacom shop checked my usage he confirmed that the 12 gigs of data that was on the contract SIM was used between The 4th and 6th of September. He said I should contact customer care. I spoke with Vatiswa and she bluntly told me that there is nothing she can do. When I asked what does she mean? I have a case number and everything and I was not capable of doing anything until yesterday (6th Sept), she bluntly asked if I want Vodacom to recharge the 12 gigs I said yes because I did not use it. This is after I also informed her that some random person messaged me on FB said heknew my phone was taken, he knew I had a Vodacom contract and he knew the types of SIMs I had in my device... She said NO Vodacom can do nothing because I did not block the SIM. So while I was concerned for my life I needed to block the SIM, with no device because Vodacom won't take a CASE number to prove that I did not use the SIM. Pathetic service! This will definitely be my last term with my contract! As soon as this contract is done I'm done! Vodacom you really need to train your staff to have more empathy when your valued customers of over 2 decades experiences a traumatic event!
