Vodacom cannot provide paid up letter

I settled my Vodacom contract and requested a cancellation and a paid-up letter. They quickly changed the numbers on my account to prepaid, but now they claim my contract is still active and that I'll receive my paid-up letter only next month. This is absurd! They are quick to cancel my contract and cut off my services immediately, but when it comes to providing the paid-up letter, it takes weeks? I urgently need this letter for my mortgage application to buy a house. Vodacom's delay could jeopardize my chance to purchase my dream home. I would not recommend Vodacom to anyone!

Just when I think you couldn't disappoint me more, you prove me wrong! Your turnaround time for a logged query is two weeks? When I called again this afternoon, for the hundreth time, a consultant informed me that I can't receive a paid-up letter until I settle an outstanding invoice for October. Apparently, your SETTLEMENT LETTERS don’t include the current month's invoice. Why call it a SETTLEMENT LETTER then? Now I have to wait for this month’s debit order to process before I can request the paid-up letter again. NOT one of your consultants advised me that I will still have to pay an outstanding invoice after I settled my account. I would have never even considered settling this account if I knew it would be such a big hassle! Meanwhile, our lawyers are waiting for the paid up letter to proceed with our home loan application. I can already foresee the difficulties I'll face with Vodacom before I finally receive the paid-up letter. This is terrible service!
