Vodacom cannot be trusted!
I've had bad service at MTN, but I must say, what I experienced now at Vodacom is the worst ever.
I have bought 2 LG V20 phones at a very good price. Then I saw a deal at Vodacom (Nelson at Modimall) for the V30+ (together with a LG Stylus 3) which was a great deal. I then ordered one for my wife, as I was still pending a port from MTN. That was on 7 August. Almost everyday I phoned to hear if the phone has arrived, but everytime they just gave excuses. Later I then ordered one for myself online on the 14th, but the confirmation for the order only went through on the 17th (Friday) of August. I received my phone on the 21st (Tuesday), just two business days later. I got rid of the V20's in anticipation of receiving the V30+'s.
I kept on phoning Nelson's Vodacom shop and every time they kept on giving excuses, like it is a phone in high demand and stock is an issue. They kept on promising it would arrive the next day. Yesterday I said I would rather order it online. They promised to phone back, but did not. I phoned again and then they promised me it would arrive today (23rd). Well, I just got a call that unfortunately these phones are no longer available.
So who do I sue? They just said that there is a clear warning that it depends on availability of stock. Will this hold up in court? Really? Do I now sue Vodacom or Nelson's shop? Did Nelson even order the phone? How on earth did I receive stock more than a week later than her order?
How do I get my old V20's back? I can go and buy a V30+ and a Stylus 3 Will Vodacom pay for it?
So my conclusion is that Vodacom as a company cannot be trusted. This is sad, since MTN can neither be trusted. It is a sad day in South Africa.
Can I please warn everybody that you cannot trust Vodacom as a reputable company. But maybe Vodacom can prove me wrong and help in this matter. Time will tell.
