Vodacom cannot answer questions - asks you to make a case of ***** (against them!)

In recent weeks, on two seperate occassions, Vodacom made it clear that they do not give a hoot - about you, your specific needs or your business.

The first relates to an attempted upgrade to a new Iphone. All they are interested in is upgrading you to a larger package without giving much information. They also do not call you back. Its too much to ask. Your probelm. So after 4 attempts, sending stuff back and trying again I am still due for an upgrade. Their system is a mess with faulty information too. Which brings me to the second point.

I have been paying for an additional contract related to a tablet, data and insurance. On several occassions in the past I requested the upgrade date and have been told its not due. After insisting that it is not possible I am told that I just upgraded it in October 2017! I OBVIOUSLY DID NOT! They also cannot say who did. This contract must now be almost 3 years old and Im still paying monthly charges for the tablet - that is stored in a drawer! Asking for more information like contract start and expiry dates caused great confusion. I was then told the contract was started in 2016?? A year ago? I was again in disbelief because I got it from my daughter before she entered Gr 3 - she just finished Gr6 today. This then led to uhhhms and ahhhs and then over to supervisors cause no one understands whats going on. Then I was told to report a case as ***** to the police station and I was given a long list of things on what else I must sort and take with and resubmit back to Vodacom. No matter how much I tried to get information or to ask for alternative options, the fact that they did not know what was going on or could not answer my questions led to an attitude with me - and me having to go to the police station. The ***** department apparently will deal with me further. And that was apparently their final word on it.

It seems to be time to change my contract. I'm due on all counts from the phone to the tablet. Im now going to spend my time better- by weighing up my options with other providers. Any suggestions? Maybe Vodacom has a way of not upgrading contracts on due dates, then they save on new devices that they can resell - while keeping on charging you for it on a lapsed contract for years? You think? CHECK YOUR CONTRACTS! Vodacom won't!
