Vodacom cancels Fibre contract without notice
Vodacom canceled my Fibre contract without notice. On the first support call they said MetroFibre had an outage on the area. The second call dropped while on hold with the support agent who never called back. On the 3rd call they said the service was cancelled. We were forced to take the package they offered at R200 higher than what we were on previously as our "only option". They also claim that MetroFibre no longers owns the infrastructure in the area. Sounds like a forced upgrade to me. They never fixed my emails, support people are impolite and unprofessional, they run their business with poor to no ethics. Consider your connecticity options very carefully, especially if you work from home.

02 Apr 2024, 22:40Thank you for your private reply. Yes, we were in contact with the Fibre team because we had to keep calling to find out the next steps and when the new order will be active, "the account holder" works from home, hence the required fibre connection. You breached on the basis of notice of termination of service, you have caused us unforeseen data expenses for days because we have had to buy bundles and hotspot from our mobile phones. The worse part is the disconnect between the teams who couldn't offer us a clear answer to begin with and then telling us there is no Metro Fibre in the area anymore - which there is and whom we are now signed up with! We were told that there is no other option but to go on Vodacom's higher priced package, is that not near ******** conduct?? Play back the call recordings. But, you expect a copy-paste "sorry" message to suffice. You fail to realize that such incidents have tremendous impact on the average hard-working South African citizen who has more than enough to contend with already. Apology not accepted, and no changes expected. Power to you.
