Vodacom cancels account with no legitimate reason

In January 2013 I renewed my contract so it should have been 24 months till January 2015. I gave TWO MONTHS notice to change from Contract to Pay-as-you-go on 12 November 2014.
This of course never transpired and the contract was extended an additional two months to March 2015. In addition I was charged for 26 months for the handset on a 24 month contract and was told by a Vodacom employee to not pay these additional charges as the handset was already paid off.
I now live in New Zealand (where Customer Service actually exists!) and have spent the entire year trying to sort this out (which is impossible via e-mail) and Vodacom refuse to deal with my proxy in South Africa as they refuse to acknowledge her power of attorney. (What is the point of a power of attorney if a corporation pretends it is meaningless?)
Today I got an e-mail informing me that my number has been disconnected due to unpaid fees from April 2015 (WHEN THE CONTRACT DIDN'T EVEN EXIST ANYMORE) and now say I have lost the cell number I have had for 12 years.
In my opinion, this is shocking and disgusting service from South Africa's supposed \Leading Cellular Network""""
