Vodacom Cancellations
I signed up for a 24 months contract with the in 2018 May on the 28th. the terms were that I need to call in to cancel the contract on its expiration. in May 2020, I called the cancellations department to cancel my contract, I received feedback that their systems were down and that the agent will cancel my contract and call me once they are back online. I waited for a week and I did not receive any feedback. I then called the cancellations department to assist with the cancellation to which the line was being answered and no one was speaking. I kept calling and kept having the same issue. I went to Vodacom in Eastrand mall to have this issue sorted to which they told me that they could not assist the reason being that all cancellations are done by the call centre.
A few months later my contract was still not cancelled and I kept on being billed despite me having asked the contract to be cancelled. I then resorted to asking my bank to stop these debits from Vodacom. after a while I started receiving statements that said I no longer owe Vodacom, but when I look at my credit report it says that my account is open.
In Jan I received a summons letter from their collection agency Maingita Jacobs Burnard demanding that I pay Vodacom. I called them to understand what I was paying for and I also stated my case. they also referred me back to Vodacom to sort out this issue as they could only close the account once Vodacom has closed it on their side, they then gave me a head office contact number (011 653 500) to which I called and no one answered, I have since been trying this number and I am not getting any joy.
