Vodacom cancellation nightmare

I took out a contract with these guys and I canceled it in April. When canceling, they quoted me and gave me the amount to pay. I paid it in full. I was advised that a debit order will still run through for R1000 as my last payment.

My debit orders goes through on the 25th for Vodacom. So- apparently the debit order was not processed by Vodacom for NO REASON AT ALL. My account had money on that day, I did not cancel the debit order, VODACOM just decided to not take the money.

In my head, everything went okay and I no longer owe Vodacom. It is now June, 2 months later, I check my credit report and I see 2 missed payments from Vodacom. No phone call, no email, nothing. Okay what's happening? To top it all off, they registered R11600 as my outstanding balance, and my monthly payments as R11600 on the credit bureau. Why? Now it shows me owing Vodacom R11600, and is my monthly payments to Vodacom as R11600, why? R11600 is the amount I had to pay to Vodacom to close off the account, which I did. This is affecting my affordability test and my credit score. Now Vodacom is making it look like it is my fault those 2 payments were missed (they decided not to take the amount, whose fault is it? when I have a debit order authorized for them?) Secondly why is it saying I owe Vodacom R11600? Fix this now!!

Reviewer Update
It is for that very reason that I came to Hellopeter. I am told to make a payment of R1000 in order to update that I do not owe R11600 on the ITC, make it make sense to me!! Why does it say I owe R11600 in the first place?
