Vodacom Cancellation Failure and No Customer Service
My 2-year contract expired on 13 June 2020. I called Vodacom well before the expiry date and cancelled my contract. The lady Primrose at Vodacom's Call Centre said I will be moved to prepaid on 1 July 2020 and I will get an SMS. I did not receive this SMS.
I called Vodacom again on 29 June 2020 and Deonis informed me she will escalate my cancellation and I should receive an SMS on 30 June 2020. I did not receive the SMS.
I called again on 1 July 2020 and spoke to Thulani and he said someone will call me back before 9:30am. No one did.
I called and spoke to Mbulelo after 11:30am on 1 July and he said he will log a credit request for July 2020 and will escalate to his supervisor. He was the first person to provide me a reference number (1-***87 99).
I did not use any of the minutes and data in July 2020 but then Vodacom deducted R659,35 from my bank account at the end of July 2020. I instructed my bank to reverse the debit order.
At the end of August 2020, Vodacom deducted an unknown amount of R760,23 from my account. Once again I had my bank reverse the debit order.
At the end of September 2020, Vodacom deducted an unknown amount of R861,11 from my bank account. Once again, I had my bank reverse the debit order.
I sent Vodacom four emails (customer ***) and I get no response. I tried to contact Vodacom and failed as you need to have a Vodacom cellphone number. I have moved to Telkom now.
This is extremely frustrating.
