Vodacom Cancellation - ********* at work

Dear Vodacom,

Your incompetence is staggering. Your cancellation department is *********. My poor mother has phoned in twice to cancel her contract and was repeatedly harassed by the consultants to convince her to not cancel her contract.

She was misinformed about the inability to cancel her contract and migrate to prepaid despite her contract ending in May of 2020. She was convinced that she has to pay R18 a month that will be debited off her account in order to receive 1Gb of Whatsapp data, otherwise her number will be inactive/cancelled. This is not correct. All she would like to do is have her own ability to buy airtime when she pleases and have her number as prepaid with no monthly debits.

Not only was she then told if she does want that, it would require her to pay another 2 months of her monthly amount, despite giving adequate 20 business days notice (which would be until the 31st of October) to cancel her contract. This is against your terms and conditions.

Please can you contact me to sort out this mess - your consultants are causing unnecessary stress and it should not be a crime to cancel your contract, because that is how they are treating her.
