Vodacom cancelations ***********
I have had a Vodacom data contract that ended December, I received and SMS saying my debit order is going off with double the contract value. I phoned them on the 24th of December asking why and they said it was because I did not renew my contract and it is normal price for the data package, but they can give me a new contract with more data and lower price, and they would not deduct the normal data package rate at the end of December. I accepted the new contract but on condition that if they deduct the normal package rate, I’ll cancel the contract. (BIG MISSTAKE - I should just have cancelled it then). No surprise, they deducted the full value at the end of December, I phoned on the 4th of January and cancelled the contract (within the allotted time of 14 days). I then phoned on the 15th of Feb and the 18th of Feb, the 15th of March and the 8th of April (four times) but to no avail. Spoke to 8 different consultants, they can all see the notes and the requests for cancelation but none of them did anything. I’ve stopped the debit order at the end of Feb as the contract is cancelled, I’m now getting threatening letters asking for payment on months after the cancellation. Please be warned that you won’t be able to cancel your contract with Vodacom and they would keep on billing you, even if you have cancelled your contract.
