Vodacom cancelation center manipulation tactics

I contacted Vodacom on *** to cancel a data package i never use. The contract has ended 7 months before the call to vodacom. I was assisted by Nombilo. The first issue was that she tried her very best to sell me new products, after the first 10 min i got very frustrated and requested again to simply cancel the number. After this i was told there is a system error and the number can not be cancelled. Nombilo then put me on hold to ask her manager to assist. After a very very frustrating 40 minutes on the phone i received my reference number. My call was handled like this First 16 min vodacom trying to sell me products, next 9 minutes on hold, Next 6 minutes with Nombilo, Next 5 minutes on hold, rest to give me my ref. number. I could not cancel the data package number all together. Instead the cancelation is recorded for End August (day of call was 11 August 2022) followed by a 30 day notice period whereafter the number will become a prepaid number from end September 2022. I was asked (A bit rude) by Nombilo where i think the number must go to if i cancel it completely and that i have only one option and that is to accept the number becomes a pre paid number and remains on my profile. Dealing with Vodacom cancellation centre i can not help feeling intimidated and manipulated. For the first time in 17+ years with vodacom i am now considering exploring other service providers.
