Vodacom Canal Walk, professional con artist.

I purchased a wifi router with a data deal on the 20th of January and was told everything would be up and running by the next day, this was not the case. I then gave it a day or two and returned to the store and explained to them that my device was not working, after almost two hours they decided that the sim card documentation was not sent through and therefore it was not activated, I was given a new sim and promised it would work the next day. The next day came and went and still the device did not work, I then called customer care and they told me that they had no control and that I should visit a store. I then went to the store at the Waterfront and explained to them my situation, they did not have an idea about what was wrong either, I was then advised to go back to Canal Walk. I then travelled all the way before my night shift on the 27th of January and told them, that I was now fed up and that I would like to return the device as it had never worked and nobody could seem to find the issue. The lady at the store that day tried to call head office but there was no reply, neither was there a manager available. I was told to take the device with me and bring it back the following Thursday, when a manager would be available. I refused and made it very clear that I do not want something that was not working and that I am cancelling the contract as Vodacom did not hold up there end of the deal which was provide with the service, I had signed for. The lady instore then took the device and told me someone would call me back and refunded my activation fee. Two weeks later I recieved and email, stating that my enquiry had been recieved and that cancellation was not possible and that I should collect my device, amongst other things the email read that a contract is a legally binding document. My issue with all of this is that I returned the device within the stipulated refund period and secondly that I never ever experienced the service I was suppose to be provided with. I have then since went into the store twice and called the store multiple times and never been able to get hold of the manager. I was told by someone at head office that cancelling the contract would not be possible, when asking why, repeatedly I was not given a reply. The fourth time I called the store and after countless emails to head office, the mananger simply told me cancellation would not be possible and to collect my device or buy out the contract. He has also since refused to give me reasons to why the cancellation of the contract was not possible. My understanding is I signed for a contract that was going to provide me with data and when this did not happpen I made multiple attempts to fix the device, as a last resort I returned it within seven days as stipulated in the contract. There was no managers instore and that was not my problem, nor the fact that the time of returning the device nobdy at head office was reachable. I went to a different Vodacom a few days after returning the device and after thinking everything was sorted, I proceeded to get the same deal, except the device worked the exact same day, I had zero issues and staff where wonderful. The pre and after service care I have recieved from both the store manager and head office have been **********. I am still awaiting a reply from customer care. Vodacom truly does not care about clients at all. It's been three months and I am still trying to resolve this issue. My emails and calls are just mostly ignored, but my money seems to be valued. I have been paying for a device and service all this time, despite cancelling it within seven days, I do not have the device in my possession and when I did have it, it was not working. I look forward to being Vodacom free, I feel ********** and violated. Did the store not actually put on the documentation the actual dates I returned the device, as I can think of nothing else. This would be ********** then and I am sure that they can check on store cameras that I was there.
