Vodacom can de-allocate re-allocating
On February 22 I got a call from a Vodacom telemarketing agent to upgrade my router contract. It was a 3Gb per month contract and they offered me a 10Gb for a little bit more. I received the new router on February 26, a lovely Huawei LTE router. When I inserted the sim, there was no data available so I though I have to wait until 1 March. I used the router with another simcard that I had and it works perfectly. But now on 1 March I still have no data. Not my old 3 Gb allocation and also not the new 10Gb. So i phoned customer care. After pressing a lot of 2 and 1 and 3, I got an upgrade agent and he put me through to another department. Now that lady told me that the technicians at Vodacom have a problem to allocate the 10Gb to my number but it will be up and running within 24 hours. Here comes the snag. I can understand that the 10Gb allocation is delayed, but why o why is my old 3Gb non existent anymore? How easy was it to de-allocate the 3Gb and how difficult should it be to allocate the 10Gb? Should the same technician who faithfully de-allocated my existing 3Gb, not also be able in the same process to allocate a 10Gb instead? What is wrong with the process? I would have understand any delay if I still had my 3Gb but removing the 3Gb without replacing it with 10Gb in the same movement does not make sense. So much for Vodacom client service. They should upgrade their upgrading allocation programme!
