Vodacom call centre tricks people to sign up.

A few months ago I came to the end of my husband's contract. We decided to change his Vodacom contract to Vodacom Prepaid. The lady at the Vodacom call centre told me that I will lose his number as it will become scrambled and that I had to take out a contract again to keep the number. We could not afford to lose his clients so I had to sign up again. A month or so later another lady at Vodacom call centre said that this was not true and that she thinks the lady tried to ensure that I started with a new contract again. So the first call centre lady actually **** to get me to sign up. When I explained this to Vodacom they said they are very sorry to hear that I was misinformed but if I do want to stop the contract, I will have to pay the R1700 or R1900 penalty to end the contract. So I am now stuck with this contract for 2 years, because she **** to get a client. All they ever do is "escalate" the issue but no one ever calls you back. Now they want me to renew my contract with them?
