Vodacom Call-Centre Sharks
I went into a Vodacom shop in Centurion to cancel a contract on prepaid data I took out more than 2 years ago for my daughter who is a student. As the router is paid up, and she is studying online and at home this year we don't need the extra data. They gave me the call centre's number where I have to phone to cancel the contract, but also warned me to insist to cancel, as the phone assistants will want to talk me into another product. I phoned, and as they warned we, the assistant said it is not wise at all to cancel. I explain my situation, and even explain further that I am without an income since lock fown, as I was not back at school yet at that stage. The lady got so upset with me that she hang up. I phoned back, unsure if the contract was canceled or not, spoke to another person, a guy this time and he assured me that everything was canceled. That was on the 19th of June 2020, so I thought July would be my notice month. Came August, they took the R300 from my bank account again. I went into the store, they explained that I have to phone the call Centre again, but the agent in store said my contract was never canceled, in fact, the phone agents didn't even open my account to cancel the contract when I phone on the 19 th of June, they just pretened to do so. I was really furious! I phoned, while standing in the store. At first the phone agent said he can't help me, because from his side there is no sign of a data contract, it must be my mistake. Wasn't it for the agent in store who took the phone over and insisted that she can see it, I would have been taken for a fool again. After a while, the phone agent saw it. I am 100% sure he wasn't even in my account to begin with. I want to know, will this contract defenitely be canceled now, and will I be credited for August? When you phone in they tell you all calls are recorder. Is that a lie? If not, they can trace that call. I also want to know if Vodacom train their sales persons to act like this. The are unprofessional, *********, dishonest, and everything a business should be ashamed of. And let me tell you they give the business a very, very bad name, because the sales persons in store, who doesn't hide behind a telephone, they are wonderful and doing a good job. Shame on you Vodacom, what are you going to do about this, taking money that doesn't belong to you?
