Vodacom call centre and Tech support Incompetence !

The red d**** that advertise Vodacom in all its confidence sadly does little to hide the poor service delivery when it comes to IT support and account preferences.

Preferences , that the customer sees as logic applicable settings to activate the voicemail services on a contract account, now seems to be the impossible to accomplish.

The sub par service now had taken up allot of my energy, having had to visit the support shops in Woodlands, Pretoria Garsfontein, numerous times, only to be approached by the IT support that state none obvious of phone settings not set, whilst we had full access to set up the voicemail prompt and message recordings, my loved one was still unable to retrieve voice call messages due to the service being deactivated as per the status on the Vodacom account.

It is vital a requirement for her to have her clients and any caller calling to be able to leave a message, yet the voice prompt does not provide the facility for the caller to do that and simply ends the call.

After numerous calls to help desk, consultants confirmed the status on the account as being “deactivated”.

Instruction to activate this simple services was given, with response from the consultant that activation sms would be send as norm within the periods of 24 hrs.

SMS received, still no activated voicemail services!!

Having had AGAIN, logged a call to consultants on the same issues, the consultant merely states the same with the added bonus to personally call back the next day to test and see if the voicemail service is active, and then they simply don’t call back.

We rely on the sms request to follow up, then another consultant makes the same empty promise and nothing happens.

We took the liberty to request consultants names in a bit for the reply service to be a tad liable in personal capacity, after names provided in the likes of “Innocence”, no feedback, no active voicemail service , as callers are still unable to submit voice message to receiver.

The frustrations are endless! We opted to visit the shop again, one out of three IT support member were able to actively log into the account details whilst we were in shop, only to confirm voice mail service was deactivated.

We request this service to be activated again, whilst we were in shop and have it see being done.

The consultant said that he had activated the service and that we had to wait yet again for activation SMS within 24hrs, and then the same all over again.

*PS – All related calls, requests and visits are logged into the VODACOM account log for reference.

Upon requesting reasons why the service was constantly deactivated whilst instruction and payment for this service was active, they simply could not provide a answer.

Empty promises, no support, no technical trouble source and solution effort, no guarentees, no proactive savvy that I can sum up the total of incompetence in all aspects!

Being very loyal customers, Vodacom is effectively deducting the monthly contract fees applicable for contract use , yet fails miserably in having to resolve a issue that in perspective of a customer logic and understanding that simply activating a service be the reasonable thing to do, and if the problem persist, actively engage in IT technical support to rectify a similar reassurance and avoid a repeat of the same mistake, yet the customer now are left to consider alternatives, perhaps to have the inconvenience of having to manage a “pay as you go” option, having to set up n new contact number, advise all clients on the changes applicable, risk the inconvenience to support dual phone mobility , only to have the voicemail services active and render any reasonability and logic to have had opted for an contact with a service provided in the first place !

Please advice
