Vodacom Business Internet Wireless Air
In November 2021 I got a Business Internet Wireless Air.
From day one, it was a struggle.
I was sent from one contact number to the next EVERY TIME, telling me that the number *** is not the one I must use. PLEASE NOTE: This number is underlined in the "Please find the attached start-up guide for Vodacom Business Internet".
After a year's struggle, I just decided to wait out the following 12 months until the contract expires and then cancel.
I should have known better.
So here are the last two days communications (or rather a lack thereof) with Vodacom:
21/11/2023 Phone ***. I am told cancellations must be requested via email to ***. - I sent the email with more information than needed as I am unfami**** with this Vodacom rodeo.
Same call, I asked the operator what would be a fair time to await a response before I followed up on the email. The answer was 2-3 hours. I waited 17 hours, to be VERY fair (considering I waited 24 months).
22/11/2023 With SR # in hand, I phone *** again. The reply is that have to phone *** for this follow up. I thank the operator and phoned the number given to me - by Vodacom. This number is only for enquiries related to cellphone numbers. As I do not have a cell number for the internet, I can not use this channel to make any enquiries for internet matters.
I phoned *** once more, and the operator transferred me to, I am not making this up now, back to the main menu of ***........ So I wait, again, for my turn, again.
This time the operator could hear that I am not happy anymore and try her best to assist. Telling me that there is NO DIRECT NUMBER TO PHONE for CANCELLATIONS. Now why would this be? Maybe because they will have to close the Business Internet section if this is possible? Because of the shameful customer service with regards to this service? I am only trying to think of reasons why they will make it impossible for the customer to follow up on a cancellation and give the power to Vodacom to contact you if and when they feel like it.
The last operator did say that she would send a "teams message" to the relevant department to contact me. Yes, I have to hope once again that Vodacom will contact me to cancel the contract. I will not be holding my breath.
For the Vodacom representative attending to this complaint, the following information are in the email sent:
Sales order # Solution ID Customer name Product in question My contact number
I am eagerly awaiting (again) Vodacom's response.
Unfortunately, after I provided the proof that I requested cancellation on 3 occupations over the period of 12 months (two cancellation requests were in May 2023 & June 2023), They will only process my cancellation from 1/12/2023 and will I still have to pay for December 2023.
Please keep in mind that Vodacom did not honour the terms of the contract by increasing the originally agreed-upon monthly tariff only 12 month into a 24-monthly contract.
Now, when I wanted to try AGAIN to pre-cancel this contract - willing to pay all the cancellation fees etc and stated that much - the call operator informed me that cancellations can only be done via email. I asked for the email address AND asked her to please spell the email address to me as I do not want it to bouncy back.
I wrote the email. Stating that I am aware of the extra cost to cancel this product and will pay it. Yes, that is how much unsatisfied I was with this Business internet of Vodacom.
I followed up a month later and again no reply. No bunch back of the emails with wrong email addresses or anything.
Now on 22 November 22 I got an email address from the operator and she said there has to be a “vb” in front of the address. Thus, my first email address was short a “vb” but it still got delivered first email, right? And it was still a cancellations department (as it says in the address name) right? How difficult is it to press forward and sent to some one that are able and asseblief tog net willing to help? OR REPLY stating that I am at the wrong cancellation department of the same company and give me the correct email address and I will try AGAIN.
Do not take any business deals from Vodacom. When you are not getting what they promised they will send you from one person to the next and put you through from one number to the next. Hoping you will run out of patience or airtime and give up, which ever one comes first.
They will make it as difficult as possible to get even more money as what you signed for.
It is not worth it.
