Vodacom Bully

I've looked at Vodacom’s ratings here on Hello Peter and I am shocked to see that they are rated as a very low-grade service provider. Well, I understand why.. I refuse to allow a debit order on my account as they just deduct any amount as they feel pleased to deduct. Therefore, I pay my cell phone account before the seventh of each month, manually by means of an EFT. After paying the account, my bank forward a payment conformation to Vodacom, confirming the payment. I then received an SMS from Vodacom, confirming receipt of the payment. Yet, 10 days later, I receive another SMS, stating that I am in arrears, need to pay immediately to avoid suspension of my lines. I am a private person and not a business but have 10 lines which are used by my children and family. The false SMS (about my account being in arrears) then goes out to all 10 lines, informing everyone that my account is not current. This is now going on at least for the past 6 months. I then have to phone their customer service (where it takes about 10 minutes just to get through the electronic menu) just to find that the payment is reflecting on their system, but it first needs to be escalated by a supervisor to the IT department, before it can be loaded onto my account. I asked what would happen if I do not phone and the rude woman told me that my lines will be suspended for non-payment. I have to pay my account before month end, otherwise it will show in arrears. I stated that my time and means of payment did change during the past 10 years and was told that it didn’t mean I was right after doing it for 10 years. After asking to speak to a supervisor I was told that they will phone me back within an hour. This never happened and after phoning again, I was told that I did not answer my phone and a voice message was left after the second call. Is it necessary to mention that I never received a call nor a voice message? Bad business acumen. I will move my lines as soon as possible. If you still decide which service provider to use, please don’t use Vodacom. They will start to bully you soon…..
