Vodacom broke my device
So I took my iPhone in for a repair at Vodaworld customer repair centre. Both the front and rear cameras stopped working, as well as the GPS.
I received a quote later in the week saying that they cannot repair or replace the device, because of some supposed bend which voided the warranty. The supposed bend isn't visible to the naked eye, so I don't know what bend they're talking about.
Nevertheless, I rejected their quote for a replacement and then collected my phone. When I tried to make a phone call after I got it back from Vodacom, the speakers didn't work. I couldn't select the audio source either. The headphone functionality also magically stopped working.
To be clear, everything on the phone worked perfectly when I booked it in for repair, except for the cameras and GPS. Vodacom returned my device with additional damage.
I took it back the next day so they can repair what they have broken. I got another quote to replace the device. I then escalated the issue with vodacom.repairsescalations.co.za.
In their response, they declined to take responsibility for the additional damage they somehow caused and just brought up the voided warranty again.
So now, I have an expensive device, that Vodacom damaged, and they still expect me to pay for the contract. Well, I will be cancelling all Vodacom debit orders, and won't pay them a cent until they fix what they have broken.
It's amazing how far Vodacom, the worst mobile service provider has fallen, they are pathetic...Cell C, here I come.
