Vodacom blocks my phone after 24 month contract is complete.

I took out a 24 month contract and when it was complete, Vodacom kept Debiting me. I reversed the payment, and the lady at my bank told me to try and cancel the contract myself. My response was "its a 2 year contract, why should i need to cancel it", to which she rep****," just try it."

I called the 'cancellations number', and told them what had happened. I received an sms later stating my contract had been cancelled.

Then i started receiving 3 calls a day from an unknown number, with a robot voice stating that my account is in the arrears.

So i eventually contacted Vodacom again, explained everything and they gave me the 'robot line', stating i owe them. I told her that i am not willing to pay anything after the 24 months. Last night i restarted my phone and it was blocked.

i can't do anything with the phone now. I guess this is the reward you get for being loyal to a brand for two years.

This morning while getting ready to leave for a client meeting, i got a message saying my phone has been barred. I was late to the client meeting because i could not use my phone's gps, as i was barred(again). I feel this is unacceptable. Especially after the fact that i settled my account more then 2 weeks ago. When i settled it, i was told by the consultant that the barring would be lifted. This is the worse service i have ever received.

Last week Thursday, i went to Vodacom Adderly street request my original signed 2-year contract. Signed all needed documentation, and i was told that i would receive it via email, in maximum 5 days. It has been a week and a day, and still i have received nothing. I feel it is time to get the ombudsman involved.
